Meet a driver at your hotel in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, then board a climate-controlled bus for the 44-mile (71-km) trip to My Tho, a thriving market town on the Tien Giang River.

Continue your trip into the Mekong Delta on a motorized river boat, navigating past riverside villages and farm fields on your way to Unicorn Island, where you’ll see a fisherman’s port bristling with stilt houses.
